Many of the free software philosophy, using software that gives freedom to the end user as opposed to just being a free product, a little worried about open source platforms that are becoming popular as an android. concern is that while the platform is open, an application that sits on top are mostly paid for commercial products. Free software begins to beat at the platform level at mobile devices, but is potentially lost to the request. Some have begun to worry.
The reality is that there is no need to worry. At this point in time as things stand right now is because of how software development works. businesses with capital to develop software for new platforms such as Android will do it first. They can take the money and hire talent needed to make applications. Some of these companies will get a return on investment, and many of them will fail in their efforts.
What this process is not free software is what really needed applications to end users. Those who believe in free software programs and can start making applications that perform the same function. In the end, people will find it silly to pay for use where there is a free alternative to many of the exact same functions.
The problem is that many of the free software movement is expected to be free and open platforms just to be free and open applications. The reality is that there will always be a hybrid because there is money to be made when the company opens a platform to millions of new users. Paid software is not something to be feared. Instead of being mad, frustrated, scared, or use the software as a successful model paid to know what the average user really wants to develop open source projects that will help long-term users.
